Dutch citizen Joran van der Sloot will plead guilty in the killing of a university student in his Lima hotel room last year. He is, however, seeking a shorter sentence by arguing that it was not premeditated, daily Correo reported.
Van der Sloot, who is also the prime suspect in the disappearance in Aruba of US teenager Natalie Holloway, is accused of killing Stephany Flores, a 21-year-old University of Lima business administration student. The two met at a casino in Lima’s Miraflores district.
Van der Sloot’s defense lawyer, Maximo Altez, said slaying was done in a “violent emotion,” after Flores found information on the Dutch citizen’s laptop linking him to the Holloway case.
If convicted under the “violent emotion” defense, Van der Sloot would be given a sentence of up to five years, compared to 25 years in prison for a first degree murder sentence.
The attorney for Flores’ family, Edward Alvarez, said the defense strategy won’t stand up against scrutiny.
This is outrageous and would be a slap in the face to Stephany Flores and her family.
Vandersloot is a manipulative serial killer, wanting transfer to the US or Dutch authorities to avoid serving a sentence in Peru. If he gets back to Dutch territory he will basically walk free. I hope the Peruvian Justice System does not allow this.

One would hope that the Peruvian Officials are not as inept or as useless as the ones in Aruba. Hopefully they will show the World what real justice is and may he Rest in Peace – in the end.
