Toledo has taken a jump in the polls in the past week, according to the latest opinion survey carried out by IMA, with a 36.5% approval nationwide.
He is followed by Keiko Fujimori of Fuerza 2011 with 20.7%, Luis Castañeda of Solidaridad Nacional with 19.9%, Ollanta Humala of Gana Peru with 11%, and Pedro Pablo Kuczynski of Por el Gran Cambio with 4.4%.
The survey was carried out by IMA for the daily Diario 16, among 2000 voters in urban and rural areas around the country, with an error margin of +-2.2%. Last week, both IMA and Ipsos Apoyo ranked Toledo with 28% and Keiko Fujimori with between 21 and 22%. IMA recorded Luis Castañeda with a 21% approval, and Ipsos Apoyo with 18%.
El Comercio daily is inviting the 11 candidates who are running for president to present their government plans in a debate on March 3, while the National Elections Board, JNE, is organizing a debate for March 13 at the Medical College auditorium in Miraflores, to be broadcast nationwide.
General elections for President and 120 members of Congress are to be held April 10.
