Chilean authorities to expel Joran van der Sloot

Joran van der Sloot, the 22-year-old Dutchman who was arrested in Chile on Thursday for the murder of a University of Lima student, will be handed over to Peruvian authorities on Friday, daily El Comercio reported.

Chile’s Interior Ministry said van der Sloot will be expelled from Chile at the Tacna-Arica border, where Peruvian authorities will be waiting to arrest him.

Van der Sloot is accused of killing Stephany Flores, 21, who was found dead on Tuesday in a Lima hotel room. Authorities believe the two met at a casino over the weekend and returned to the hotel room, which was registered to van der Sloot.   Authorities said hotel security cameras showed the couple entering the hotel at around 5 am and van der Sloot leaving alone some three hours later Sunday morning.

Stephany Flores’ automobile was found abandoned in the Surco district, which led her family to initially believe she had been kidnapped.

Van der Sloot left Peru by crossing its southern border into Chile days before Flores’ body was found by a hotel employee.

Interpol issued an international arrest warrant for van der Sloot, who was later detained by Chilean police while in a taxi heading to the tourist town of Viña del Mar.

Flores’ death came exactly five years after US teenager Natalie Holloway went missing in Aruba. Van der Sloot was considered the prime suspect in Holloway’s death. He was arrested twice but never convicted. The case was widely covered by international media, which has also, along with Peru’s local media, been reporting closely on the Flores case.

Flores was studying business administration at the University of Lima. She is the daughter of businessman Ricardo Flores, a former presidential candidate  and well-known Caminos del Inca rally driver.  Stephany had ridden as co-pilot with her father two years ago in the gruelling, cross-Andean rally.

Flores was buried on Thursday at a cemetery in Lima’s La Molina district.

On behalf of the citizens of The Netherlands, justice is done best when this animal gets a life sentence or the death penalty. Please don’t extradite him to The Netherlands. Judges here are weak and he’ll be out of prison in no time.

I hope this scumbag Van Der Sloot goes to jail in Peru for a long, long time and I hope he gets thrown in with a bunch of rapists who can have their way with him every day, and make his life an endless torment because that is what he deserves. What a useless, filthy piece of garbage. He has no respect for life, he sat and laughed in the faces of the family of Natalie Holloway, when all they wanted was the truth from him. What a self-seeking, perverted monster. And because of whatever political connections his idiotic father had to be able to protect him from the authorities in Aruba, he got away with it. And thank God his father is dead now and can’t interfere with justice anymore. And so now this parasite Joran Van Der Sloot did it again, and this time he isn’t going to get away with it. And the family of his latest innocent victim looks like they are pretty influential and important. It’s unfortunate the Death Penalty doesn’t exist in Peru. But maybe a long life of torment in prison will be better than death for this piece of garbage. I hope he gets what he deserves. A stray dog or cat roaming the streets has far more value than this this useless piece of trash.

  6. I’m sorry for the terrible loss.. All of us in the Netherlands hope he won’t get transfered back to the Netherlands. Please make this animal go to jail in Peru! Atleast you people know what prisons are! Ours are equal to a cheap hotel…

Rest in Peace Stephany and Nathalee

As for Joran, enjoy your time meeting some real Peruvian gangsters, I’m sure they’ll teach you some tricks! You got away once, this time you’re screwed. 25 years in prison AT LEAST I’d say.

  7. This is the scum of the earth ! Aruba authorities along with his miserable father, Paulis, covered up evidence for this degenerate and now we will never know what he did with her body ! He is going to know how justice works in Peru. How ironic that justice is on the side of the victim in this case. Good work Peru and God bless the families of both of these young ladies.

On behalf of the people of Alabama, we extend our deepest sympathies, and prayers, to the family of Stephany Flores.

For those of us who know the family of Natalee Holloway, we know the kind of unmerciful pain Joran Vander Sloot has caused.

Joran Vander Sloot is the Devil in the flesh. He is Evil Incarnate. He has caused so much pain to so many people and this “Animal” has no conscience whatsover. If the death penalty existed, he certainly deserves it.

I hope, and pray, Peruvian Justice will prevail and this Monster will never be allowed to ever walk the street again to hurt anyone else.

    May God Bless You All!

    Sincerely,
    Phil Fleming

  9. I feel very sad for the Flores family. There are very many of us
in the USA who feel that the creep Van der Sloot should have
never been free to hurt another beautiful young lady.

The world has had more than enough of this scum. 35 years in a Peruvian prison isn’t really sufficient punishment but it would be a good start.

Thanks to police in the governments of Peru and Chile working together, the killer, Joran van der Sloot finally will be brought to justice. Tragically it took the death of another girl, Stephany Flores, to catch him. I understand that Peru does not have the death penalty, that is too bad, which I am sure the families of Natalie Holloway and Stephanie Flores would agree.

  12. My condolences to Flores family. Just remember that Stephanie was very fortunate to have you as her family. With you on my prayers. qpd

  14. If the Aruban authorities did their job and locked him up this poor girl would be alive among probably other girls. Mrs. Hollaway fought long and hard for justice for Natalee but the country basically kicked her out because she was hurting their tourism. I personally will never step foot on Aruba. They have blood on their hands for letting this psychopath go, and what about thhe Satish Brothers where are they they need to come forward and tell the truth.

And SHAME on all those people that called Natalee a whore when this first happened 5 years ago I read blog after blog how evil people were calling her a whore. When she was the victim of this sicko. Justice delayed is Justice served.

  15. The worst thing Peru can do is send this psychopath called Joran van der Sloot back to Aruba/Netherlands where politics play first and justice come later. If that happens, the blood of Flores will be on Peru’s hands, just like Hollaway’s blood is on Aruba’s hand.
