Activities in the town of Urubamba in Peru’s Cuzco department are returning to normal after the flooding of the Tullumayo River this week, daily El Comercio reported. While the rains have stopped and the situation is under control in Urubamba, there are still families affected in the province.

The Amazon River, South America’s largest, has reached its highest level since Peru’s National Meteorology and Hydrology Institute, or Senamhi, began keeping records near its source, daily El Comercio reported Wednesday.
