The body of a Peruvian diplomat stationed in Russia, who went missing on New Year’s has been found, daily El Comercio reported.
Twenty-nine year old Sergio Alonso del Castillo was found in the Moskva River, which flows through the capital Moscow and close to an area where Del Castillo was last seen.
“The diplomat was identified by a tattoo,” a Russian police officer said.
The cause of death has not yet been determined, however officials said the body did not have any injuries. “The cause of death… will be determined by an autopsy,” officials said.
Del Castillo went missing on January 1 after leaving a Moscow bar.
